Alura Bennett, LMHC

Alura is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor offering individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults via telehealth and in person. With a background in educational and community-based settings, Alura has extensive experience assisting individuals and families.

Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and person-centered, tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. She draws from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In addition, Alura utilizes mindfulness and healthy lifestyle changes to promote holistic well-being.

Alura’s expertise extends to working with children, adolescents and young adults dealing with stress, anxiety, difficulties with social skills and school related issues. She offers a supportive and inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ youth navigating life transitions to foster resilience and growth. Alura is passionate about empowering each client to regulate emotions, enhance communication skills and navigate daily challenges with confidence and self-awareness.

In her spare time, Alura enjoys hiking in upstate NY, learning to dance salsa and reading in the park.
